What kind of groups visit the dragon? The three largest rallies (500 plus) are the Minis (April), Zdayz (May), and Miatas (August). There at many other nearby rallies in Cherokee and Maggie Valley. Nearby Pigeon Forge in Tennessee hosts several large antique car rallies each year. See EVENTS page for complete list.
Most of the groups that visit Tail of the Dragon are small, informal gatherings of car or motorcycle groups. Some groups of less that 12 members gather at times. Others might see several dozen attendees. The rallies include a wide range of vehicles from Mopeds to super cars.
All of these rallies are planned, organized and conducted by private individuals or groups. TailoftheDragon.com simply acts as a place to list the events and spread the word. We have no specific part in any of the events except to provide a place for attendees to meet. We can provide your group with free stickers, custom signs, and custom shirts – see below for more information.
Where to stay. There are accommodations in the area that can handle even the larger events. Fontana Village just ten miles from the Dragon is the largest and offers motel rooms, cabins, and camping. Smaller hotels/motels/cabins/camping are listed on TAIL OF THE DRAGON ACCOMMODATIONS
