MAY 14: Lots of action on the Dragon last weekend. Ferraris were the big treat. Some 25 of them stayed at the Tapoco Lodge. Then came the oposite end of the spectrum ..... the BABE Rally. Buy a car for under $500 and drive it from New York to New Orleans (Big Apple to Big Easy .... BABE).

BREAKING NEWS ... US 441 from Cherokee to Gatlinburg is now open. It is amazing how fast things can get done with a incentives. Great job !!

There are closures to several Forest Service roads. Tatham Gap road from Robbinsville to Andrews is closed to through traffic, but you can still ride to the summit at Joanna Bald from Robbinsville.

Watch out for gravel on many of our roads. Recent heavy rains have increased the problem. We noted quite a bit on the mountain section of Wayah Road. Also some on the Cherohala from the dump trucks hauling gravet to the repair site.

The waterfall section of Moonshiner 28 west of Highlands has been repaved and is in good shape.

DIAMONDBACK UPDATE: Matt Crean reports that portions of 226A have been patched with rubber crack sealer and may be slippery. Watch your speed.

Mornings have been brisk with temps in the low 40s, but the days warm to the 60-70s. Still a great time to drive and avoid the summer crowds.

DEVILS TRIANGLE UPDATE: Dec 2, 2012, We hear there has been some repaving. Warning though to watch out for the slick paint and gravel in some corners.

Nancy and Ron with Larry the Cable Guy filming an episode of his TV show "Only in America" (History Channel) at the Dragon in September. Had a great time with everyone and Larry had the ride of his life in our GT 5.0 Mustang. Watch for the show in 2013.

We are expanding our coverage of the great area roads to include the southern section of the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Diamondback, north Georgia Six Gap, The Snake, The Devils Triangle, Moonshiner 28, in addition to the Cherohala Skyway and Tail of the Dragon.

Now you'll have to plan a two week vacation just to get all of these roads into your riding plans. We'll also be including some lesser known roads of interest.
